Flipping TEWSDAY’s on their heads by sharing challenges and great stories of achievement and more……
Tonight we share a hair raising challenge … Meet SHARON !!!!
My name is Sharon Drummond . I’m 53, divorced with one daughter, Elouise who is
now 21 and in her last year at university.
In late 2013 I decided that in order to see what my natural hair colour was ( going
grey but can’t face the growing it out) and to raise money for Reuben’s Retreat I
would grow my hair out and then have my head shaved. My plan was to do this on
stage somewhere as I am a NODA rep for amateur theatre in the area and knew that a
stage would allow many theatre friends to come along and support me.
My original plan was to do this in 2014 but due to ill health including a blood clot in
August 2014 that put me on Warfarin I had to postpone but it meant I could grow my
hair a bit more.
Finally off the warfarin in February 2015 I set about making the plan happen. Last
weekend I met with Peter Wakefield of Peters Friends. He very kindly said I can have
the cut/shave done on 11th
My friend Claire Egerton has agreed to wield the clippers on the night and I am now
busy raising funds for a charity that I know is doing incredible work. As a mum
myself I am in total awe of how Nicola and Michael have coped with the loss of
Reuben and the positive attitude they have that surrounds the charity and I’m proud to
be raising funds for you.
Peters Friends will take place on Saturday 11th
can be booked by calling the box office on 0161 624 2829 or via the website
My just giving page can be found at www.justgiving.com/sharon-drummond If you can spare any amount, however small, please sponsor me for this amazing charity.
