This weeks Manchester Weekly News Article come from Lynne our Operations Manager:
After a lovely Easter break, the Reuben’s Retreat offices are once again sizzling with activity and anticipation of the exciting months ahead as we forge forward in our quest to achieve the Reuben’s Retreat vision! Despite the weekend’s very un-Spring like weather our wonderful volunteers were out in force as always, supporting our efforts to raise awareness and funds for our charity. We are so very grateful to each and every kind soul who has been a part of Reuben’s journey since the charity was born just 3½ years ago and I’d like to take the chance today to say a huge THANK YOU to you all. Our volunteers are truly our heroes and they underpin so many of the charity’s activities – from bag-packing to book-keeping, knitting to knowledge/skills sharing – and enabling us to direct as much of the charity’s resources as possible to supporting families of children unlikely to reach adulthood and families bereaved of a precious child. And whilst we are determined to provide the best possible services and facilities for the families, we are equally committed to ensuring our volunteers are supported in their efforts to support us. As such we have recently over hauled our recruitment process and are making strides to communicating as effectively as possible, ensuring our unofficial ambassadors realise their importance to us. So if ever there’s a time to join the Reuben’s Retreat voluntary team, please make it now and truly become a part of our foundations and our future…
In other news, there’s just over 7 weeks (or 52 days…or 1,248 hours…eek!) to the brilliant Great Manchester 10k Run, so if you’ve not started your training plan just yet, there’s still time! Our resident marathon runner and Office Manager Rachael is on hand to support all our runners, old or new, so please get in contact on 01457 680 023 or via email@example.com. This year our littlest fundraisers are donning their trainers and running for Reuben in the Junior & Mini Great Manchester Run at the Etihad campus on Saturday 21st May at 10am.
Our heartfelt thanks this week to Tameside Ladies Bowling club, Hyde Fundraisers, NSC Global and for brimming charity collection pots from Mottram Road News & Wine and Mottram Road Stores.
Finally an invitation to our wonderful supporters across Greater Manchester and further afield, please visit our website (www.reubensretreat.org) or our Facebook and Twitter pages to stay abreast of our renovation works, future plans and fantastic forthcoming events.
With love and thanks from
Team Reuben xx
