Here is our Manchester Weekly News Column for this week:
The countdown begins. Only a few sleeps now remain between us and the mini run on Saturday and the Manchester 10k on Sunday. Good Luck everyone. Special wishes to all our little legs that will be running on Saturday, from age 3 upwards. Also a big thank you to our Office run hero and Manager Rachael for organising the days ahead and keeping in touch with our fabulous REUnners. Also big thanks to our team and volunteers who will be supporting on the days too.
Please come along to Manchester and cheer. The atmosphere is electric and something truly wonderful to be a part of.
Last week was an incredibly busy week with evening meetings and events including our friends of Howard Park and an update design meet too. My feet didn’t touch the ground as the week culminated in back to back meetings on Friday, a trip to Costco to secure snacks for our roofers and a car transfer in to Manchester as guests at the Radisson Blue for the Chartered institute of building’s annual dinner. Welcomed with open arms, we were really looked after and the kind and generous dinner guests donated for a raffle. Raising over £2.5k including gift aid, we thank them for choosing our cause and also thank Barbara for arranging and our staunch supporters Jon Campbell, Jonathan Greenhalgh and Bill Jennings.
Lots of thank you’s this week, with special thanks to Diane Tym and cherished memories dove release in conjunction with our dovecote donated from Nicola and Howard Ashcroft of Denton construction, placed by Jason Howe. This project is well and truly underway now, with the arrival of our 10 week only baby doves last week. A beautiful site to see and they are very much welcomed here from all at our Retreat.
Thank you to Katy for collecting a wonderful donation from Dave and the Mallender lodge last week, thank you Wargrave C of E primary school, Sue’s singers (what a fabulous donation), Elizabeth Way, Glossop carriage company, Glossop happy ramblers accompanied by Maureen Hobson, Glossop swimming baths, Collette Williams, Gennaro, Harry and Dan, Iain Gillespie for his banners and donating his monies, Broughton hall catholic school and Joan Taylor.
We are in for another incredibly busy week at Reuben’s Retreat and thank everyone past, present and future for their support, loyalty, love and involvement.
