Our column reaching homes across Tameside and beyond … if you see your friends name in a “thank you” please share;-
I look forward to joining our friends this weekend at their ball. Mummy’s star are hosted “dressed to the nines” and it will be a great night raising funds for a fantastic cause.
Another busy week this week with lots of meetings planned at the retreat. This week we send the tenders out for our roof. We desperately need to put a new roof on the retreat and make it watertight. I have already seen a huge change to the building since our open days in October and I am afraid it won’t survive another Winter. Once our tenders come back we will interview and then appoint a contractor. I will then ask you all to keep everything crossed and pray for dry days as we cannot afford to have the recent rains we have been experiencing.
Behind the scenes we are meeting regularly as a “design team” whilst we look at the hydrotherapy suite and sensory spaces followed by the day care activity zone, and also our hope for an orangery.
Just a reminder on a couple of forthcoming events. Ashton under lyne Ladies golf club are hosting a make up demonstration evening on the 2nd of March tickets are £3 and include a goodie bag, call 07946505946 for tickets – we also have Kay supporting our cause and the fantastic Glossop mountain rescue at Sing a long Mamma Mia including greek meze for £20 and tickets available on 07860940740 for Friday the 4th of March at Glossop golf club.
Golf clubs have always been a fantastic support for us and it makes me smile. As the last day we spent together as a family we played crazy golf with Reuben and lost 50p on a ball that he wouldn’t let us hand back in.
Lots of thank you’s this week and we need you more than ever as our hopes to start more building work will be realised this next season. Thank you’s to Hatty, Jessica, Lucy, Ellie St Peter and Paul’s, Wardle village church, Ashton swimming club, Mr D McCarthy, Hadfield conservative club, Lesley and Jacki for the furniture purchase, GB group, Godley Ladies Oaklands, Staff of Tibard Ltd, Rebecca Cleverly, Lisa Blain Bioscript, Craig PFP leisure Glossop, Austin and the hellish challenge crew, Queens arms Glossop and all those that have purchased from our Amazon wish list.
Also a big thank you to our dear friend and volunteer Doris, for her incredible soup kitchen idea. Thank you Lydia for the chocolate hamper, it’s on its way to Tameside college.
And our condolences to the family of Judith Blakely. Always amazed when those suffering such heartache can choose to support a cause.
Have you seen our banners out and about too? I hope the children love our Reu the Gnu banners. Reu starts his world book tour next week and will be visiting 7 local schools, how exciting.
Keep in touch, and if you need us we are on 01457 680023 (reaches both offices) ring before you call so that we can ensure the privacy of our families.
