About time we had a Mummy blog me thinks……wowzer… what a week it has been….
Monday I met two fabulous supporters up at the retreat, to receive an incredible cheque. A massive thank you to Wendy, who found us via Elite media, via placing an ad in our magazine. Wendy and her boss Steve met up with me for a tour and donated a significant amount of monies to our cause. THANK YOU both so very much and a huge thank you to UK healthcare.
I went back to the retreat later that evening to meet with a family that also walk this path and lost their darling daughter aged 11years and 11 days. They have since set up a foundation in her memory and are keen to explore opportunities to support our cause. It was lovely to meet with them and to hear what child loss is like 12 years on.
Gail and Antony from Elizabeth way and company also joined us and it was a real privilege to show them round. We first met the team when Liz brought Reuben home from Bristol and they have all continued to care for our family very much and support our charity too.
Home via Guides, I stopped by to talk to the lovely girls of 5th Hadfield, to explain what we are doing and why. The Guides are hoping to raise much needed funds for our cause.
Tuesday, Ali and myself headed over to see Positive play in Chesterfield and to learn all about a great support group over there. We also got to test out a “snoozelum” and play in the ball pool…… all in a days work eh!
Wednesday we caught up on our breaks, counselling, books and day trip support and I am currently working on a pamper day for some Mummies that need it very much. Updating our numbers on the board it was great to see how many families we have helped so far.
Ali disappeared to meet Derek at the retreat and to set up “Wi-fi” Yayyyyyyyyy…… We are not in there yet, and it will be some time until we are, but it’s great to be good to go… asap…. with more support to come from him, what a great guy.
We are still working on our plans for phase 1 and soon we hope to start building work.
Wednesday night, Ali and I attended the Pride of Ashton awards, where I was nominated for “person of the year”. I didn’t win, but got a lovely certificate. It’s all great awareness for our charity.
Yesterday me and Auntie Rach went to London. I had been nominated and shortlisted for “Inspiring fundraiser of the year” for the Inspiration awards for women. Thank you to all that nominated and voted. I didn’t win it, but collected a prestigious “Inspirational Woman” award from the panel, which was a great surprise and I was thrilled. Rachael and I met some lovely people and it was a great evening. Humbled to be in the same room, there were tears and stories were shared.
Im now off to cuddle my eldest, and chill out before another busy weekend.
Tomorrow we “ROCK for Reuben” in Bolton courtesy of Michelle and Elvis Leonard plus incredible support as always !!!! and Sunday we join Glossop rotary for their annual “Glossop jog”.
I don’t do this alone ….. Angels work, carried out by an army of love, support, dedication, generosity, and overwhelming kindness
Miss you beyond words my darling boy. Wish I wasn’t doing any of it ……
We are doing you proud sweetheart…. All 1 million pounds of us and more!!!!!!!
Thanks for reading, sharing, supporting and more….
