Congratulations this week to the Cafe Seraphina on their grand opening. If you would like to support or take advantage of their suspended coffee campaign, please pop by and visit the lovely team and their exceptional service and warm smiles. Whilst you do, you can also nip next door to visit Sue and her fabulous new shop with a wonderful array of Ladies clothing, handbags and fabulous gifts at the Seraphina centre. There is enough going on to treat yourselves to a wonderful pamper too, you could easily make a morning or afternoon of it. And pamper leads me nicely to Sunday. As on Sunday we hosted our 3rd pamper day for Mummies. This now takes our total to 125 supported families care of Reuben’s Retreat. I would like to thank the Ladies of Seraphina centre and cafe for their support in making the day special and to our wonderful therapists, Sue, Anna, Sara, Lorraine, Sarah, Katy and Denise for gracing us with their skills, energies, beautiful hearts and voluntary time. Our day wouldn’t be what it is without them.

I have already received some lovely words of thanks from one of our Mums and this is some of what she had to say “Just need to thank you so much for today. All those who volunteered to help us mummies feel calm and relaxed and to the other mummies sharing advice and stories you all made my day speciaI I’m so chilled and happy today. Look forward to my next visit” Lovely words. I am also pleased to share with you that we have upped our support for our pampered Mummies and have introduced a new session. Reuben’s Recharge, serene Sunday’s will start next month and are designed to offer extra support for our Mums and Dads that are living with the daily struggles of loving and living with a child that has severe complex needs.
This is where all your hard earned pounds and pennies are going, and also are being spent on our renovations. Our counselling support centre is 4-6 weeks behind schedule as we have hit many obstacles along the way, but it is still moving at a great pace and it will be ready when it is meant to be. We have taken the decision to stay in Ashton under Lyne too, as we feel this is a great hub for our services and we very much look forward to increasing our support further once we open in Glossop this Summer.
A big thank you to all that supported us this week including The train guard who held a fabulous competition and raised over £400, with another £400+ coming in from our fabulous comedy night too thank you Jenny D and Matt S for arranging another great night. At this point I would like to thank immensely the wonderful “David” and family from Ashton who were at the brunt of much of the comedic material on Saturday. Thank you for supporting, but most of all, for being great sports !!!! Thanks also go to Mottram rd shop and their fabulous collection pot once again, the Surrey arms in Glossop, the Ladies darts and dominoes league in Glossop and our fabulous friend Lyn who dropped by with a cheque from Aviva courtesy of Enterprise holdings.
As our funds diminish on our building renovations and support, we need you more than ever. Please stay close and keep in touch and keep sharing our cause with somebody that doesn’t know of us and together we can achieve great things.
