Wow! Autumn is here already and as the beautiful leaves begin to turn, we look forward to cosy evenings and prepare for the next few months here at Reuben’s Retreat. Thanks to your amazing support throughout this challenging year, we are continuing to support families through rain and shine, due to the generous hearts who surround us.
Alongside our virtual activities, it’s been a pleasure to slowly meet families back at the Retreat and in the surrounding countryside to create special memories. Here’s a few highlights from over the last month.
We are proud to have launched 4 new initiatives during ‘Stay Home Safe’ which include: ‘Rest & Restore’ online restorative yoga course, ‘Me-Time’ listening service, ‘Dad’s Club’ bereavement support group and ‘Social Well-Care’ a welfare advice service.
Here’s some recent feedback from one of our beneficiary families who attended Rest & Restore:
“I had the best nights sleep in ages. My mind was playing silly games since the beginning of lockdown and I was “ busy” all night every night for months. I slept like a log last night. Thank you.”
With nights drawing in and fires being lit, autumn is the perfect time to snuggle down and get cosy.
With this in mind, our volunteers have been busy crafting gorgeous handmade quilts using a variety of fabrics. These are available to buy from our website now and really are made with an abundance of love! They make special and thoughtful gifts too.
All proceeds will go towards our beautiful family work. You can shop here.
