Reuben’s Mummy always says “Reuben’s Retreat will be built on an army of love and compassionate hearts” it is no more apparent than here as without our volunteers we would not be where we are today.
As our charity grows, we need your help more than ever. With each passing phase of our multi million pound renovation project, our need for voluntary support increases.
We currently have lots of roles within our charity that we need your help and support with. Here are just a few examples of the roles we have available:
- Gardening volunteers – to tend to our gardens on a weekly basis.
- Community Fundraisers – to help at local events and bag-packs and promote our charity to the public.
- Marketing support – are you a graphic designer and can donate some of your skills & talent?
- Voluntary services support – are you an organised person and can help our volunteer co-ordinator?
Some roles are weekly, fortnightly and some are ad-hoc. We also have many events throughout the year that you can involved in as a micro-volunteer with no other commitment needed. If you would like to know more about volunteering at Reuben’s Retreat please call our Volunteer Manager on 01457 680023 or email volunteers@reubensretreat.org
If you have a few hours per week to spare would like to sign up to be a regular volunteer please download and fill in the volunteer form parts I & II and return to us or call the office and we will post one out to you with a stamped addressed envelope.

Keeping volunteering voluntary
As a charity we know the value of volunteering. Volunteering means people independently choosing to give their time freely to help others and make the world a better place. Workfare schemes for unemployed people to carry out unpaid work or face benefit sanctions that can cause hardship and destitution. We believe in keeping volunteering voluntary and will not participate in government workfare schemes.
“After I retired I had some spare time, I wanted to help Reuben’s Retreat as they are a local charity that means a lot to my family. I am now a volunteer handy-man – volunteering is good for the soul and I look forward to my volunteering every week I feel valued and part of the Reuben’s Retreat family” Chris Jones
