Supporting families who have suffered the loss of a child or have a child living with medical complexities

Every person has the right to an inclusive, accessible world.
As the builders safely return to our Retreat and the final tiles are being laid in both our brand new changing places, we have shared some emotional moments as a team thinking about the fun times that await our families 😊
We recently had a special visitor who has worked with children who have complex and additional needs for over 30 years all over Greater Manchester. She shared with us that she has never seen anything like our activity wing- it gave her goose bumps 💙
Slowly but surely, things are changing, please see this article from Aveso:
“Aveso alongside the Changing Places consortium are delighted to announce the major change to building regulations in England that will require thousands of Changing Places (large (12m2), well-equipped accessible toilet facilities) to be designed and built into new public buildings, from next January 2021.”
Reuben’s Retreat is already a safe haven for so many families. Soon we will have our activity wing offering completely accessible fun and therapy and a space for making magical memories 😍 We give thanks to everyone who made our changing places possible. Lets hope we can show you them very soon 🙏
