Support from companies is integral to raising awareness of our support services (it may be that one of your colleagues needs our help, either now or in the future) and the funds needed to be able to work with every child, adult or whole family that needs us. Thank you for visiting our website and here are just a few suggestions of how you can help.
Chosen Charity or Charity of Choice
Many of the companies that support us do so for a defined period and/or to achieve specific outcomes, or we’re selected as their ‘Chosen Charity’ or ‘Charity of Choice’. We’re grateful for your support however it’s structured and we’ll offer you all the support in return that we can.
Whole company fundraising or team based challenges can be immense fun whilst raising funds towards our support services/activities for families in need, or towards our renovations (please do let us know if you have a preference for what your funds are used for).
The number of fun and interactive ways your staff can raise funds is limitless and we’d love to work with you to help bring your ideas to life or tie them into our current initiatives. Each company is as individual as we are and we’re always on hand to discuss the opportunities available, but in the meantime here’s a list of some ideas.
It’s also worth checking with your company to see if they offer any match funding opportunities.
Donate your service, product, talent or expertise
The Reuben’s Retreat vision is ambitious and we’ll need our army of supporters to help us bring it to fruition. When we completed our Phase 1 renovations (to create The Lodge at Reuben’s) we saved a whopping £189,176 through in-kind donations of time, talent and free/low cost products. Your skills, expertise, or resources/goods could help us significantly now or in the future, so please get in touch.
We have many opportunities for companies to sponsor our services, events and challenges, so please give us a call and we can make some suggestions that will fit with your aims and objectives.
Everyday we grow as a charity and our journey is moving at a pace faster than we ever imagined. We always need gifts and prizes from hampers to holidays that we can either give to the families that we support to bring a little joy to their lives, or they can be used to raise much need income towards our renovations.
Many companies encourage/support their employees to volunteer (either individually or by team/department) for good causes as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility policy and Reuben’s Retreat very much welcomes these gifts of time. Sometimes though, particularly when we’re undertaking renovation works it may not always be possible to host a voluntary day at our Retreat due to health & safety regulations, however we can always offer alternatives such awareness days/stalls, using your team’s skills (e.g spent it designing a marketing campaign) or run a bag-packing session at a local superstore.
Give As You Earn (Payroll Giving)
Payroll Giving is a flexible scheme which allows anyone who pays UK income tax to give regularly on a tax free basis to charities including Reuben’s Retreat.
Payroll Giving donations are deducted before tax so each £1.00 you give will only cost you 80p if you are a basic rate taxpayer and if you’re a higher rate tax payer, it will only cost you 60p.

If your company prefers to give philanthropic donations we have many exciting projects you could help fund. You may also qualify for Corporation Tax relief and we are always happy to acknowledge your support with publicity.
We appreciate gifts in kind too – and this can be a great way to utilise your company’s assets and skills, achieve your corporate responsibility goals and demonstrate your commitment to our cause.
