Payroll Giving donations are deducted before tax so each £1.00 you give will only cost you 80p if you are a basic Rate Taxpayer and if you’re a Higher Rate Tax Payer, it will only cost you 60p. Please check that your employer is participating in the give as you earn scheme…
One of our values here at Reuben’s Retreat is ‘Remember’. Our charity founded in memory of Reuben Graham is his legacy. Legacy giving is an effective way to help us and is a vital source of future funding for Reuben’s Retreat, this is a forever project..
Many think that a legacy has to be a large sum of money, it really doesn’t, any amount will help us make a real difference to others.
Your legal adviser will be able to explain to you the kind of gifts you can leave such as:
- A specific amount of cash, known as a ‘pecuniary gift’
- A share of your estate a ‘residuary gift’ after you have provided for your loved ones
- A specific gift for example jewellery
You may or may not be aware that if you leave a legacy to our charity or another that it will be exempt from income tax, inheritance tax & capital gains tax.
For advice on making or changing your will we strongly advise that you seek independent professional advice from a professional advisor.
Thank you for considering Reuben’s Retreat a place to ‘Relax, Recharge, Remember & Rebuild’.
