Delighted to have appointed local roofers LJ Roofing to completely overhaul the roof of the main building, work starts for 16 weeks from the 16th of May. We’re praying for fine weather and the safety of the fabulous roofing team we have on board. As with most people that come into contact with Reuben and his legacy, this is more than a job to them and they are really thrilled to be carrying out such vital work. They are also getting their heads together to come up with a team challenge, to give something more back and fundraise too. We wish them luck with the weather and pray for dry days ahead. Thank you team LJ Roofing, part of Reuben’s journey forever.
Despite the rain, our runners brought buckets of sunshine and cheer as we once again turned our proud City of Manchester ReuBlue with 250 child and adult runners taking part in the Great Manchester 10k Run and Mini Run on 21/22 May. A huge thank you to all our runners and all those that braved the rains to support them. Our mascot “Reu the Gnu” was a big hit with the little ones and big ones alike and if you look at our Facebook page #reubensretreat you’ll see some of the fantastic photos taken by our amazingly talented Ian Gillespie and Nigel Maitland. Our day would not be the same without you both and thank you for giving up your incredible time talent and skill. Also thanks to the Glossop Carriage Company for sponsoring our gorgeous button badges. The date next year is 28 May 2017 (bank holiday weekend), why not join in the fun?
We’re grateful to so many kind hearts this month, to name just a few… Chartered Institute of Building, Glossopdale Community College, Saddleworth Tangent courtesy of Saddleworth Male Voice Choir, Glossop Happy Ramblers accompanied by Maureen Hobson, Glossop Swimming Baths, Jane Brown and Diane Galvin for car booting and U3A in Romiley.
