Together for the journey
I joined Reuben’s Retreat in April 2024 as Family Wellbeing Champion and soon became Head of Family Support & Wellbeing. In this role, I lead a dedicated team supporting bereaved families and those with medically complex children, offering compassionate spaces for grief, healing, and memory-making. With over 20 years in the charity sector as a child therapist, team leader, and clinical supervisor, I’ve learned the power of listening and presence. The warmth and kindness from our team and beneficiaries make me grateful to be part of the Reuben’s Retreat family.
My role as Head Of Operations sees me underpin all operational aspects of the charity ensuring that the fundraising & service delivery teams can undertake their roles, safely, risk-free and with ease. Having a strong operational background and a wealth of experience within this field makes me determined to make a difference to the smooth running of this wonderful cause.

I am thrilled to be part of the Reuben’s Retreat team. As a fundraiser, every day is interesting, diverse and an absolute joy.
Meeting our volunteers and witnessing first hand the incredible endeavours that our community do to raise much needed funds, is inspiring.
I also write grant applications in a bid to secure funding so that we can continue our beautiful work and complete our forever home.

My role as Fundraising Champion allows me to witness the kindness of people every day. Beautiful souls, kindly giving, in multiple ways to raise awareness of our cause, to reach those that need us and to generate vital funds to support our families on their journey and to complete our forever home.

Hi, I’m Rebecca and I’m proud to be Head of Fundraising here at Reuben’s Retreat. My background is in marketing and major donor fundraising, but what really drives me is making a difference to people’s everyday lives and being part of a caring, supportive family. Working here gives me the chance to do just that, while helping to grow the love and legacy that Reuben inspires.
Outside of work, you’ll usually find me exploring the outdoors, walking in nature, or on my yoga mat. I’m a bit of an eco-warrior at heart, always looking for ways to tread a little lighter on the planet. I love new adventures and the chance to discover something different whether that’s a hidden trail, a new community, or a fresh idea.

Hello, I’m privileged to work for Reuben’s Retreat as the Executive Assistant, where I provide essential support to our charity’s leadership; helping things to run smoothly so that our focus remains where it matters the most, helping families who have suffered the loss of a child or have a child who may face an uncertain future.
Working with Reuben’s Retreat touches my heart every day; the power of kindness and working with a beautiful team!

In my role as Social Media & Graphics Champion, I collaborate with both the fundraising and family teams to create flyers, event posters, and other graphics that raise awareness and promote the impact on our beneficiaries. My focus is on driving engagement and growth across our social media channels and online communities to amplify our mission and strengthen our online presence.
The sense of belonging I feel within this community makes each day rewarding, and hearing the stories from our beneficiaries about their experiences at Reuben’s Retreat is what inspires me. It’s an honour to contribute to a cause that has such a lasting impact on many individuals.
I began my journey as a member of the Reuben’s Retreat family, in a volunteer capacity, in 2019. During my time as a volunteer, I have been blessed to be a part of so many life-affirming and priceless memory-making moments, from therapy groups, family fun days and supporting Santa in his grotto; all of which were truly magical. I come from an education background and children have always been at the heart of my professional motivation, so seeing the awe and wonder on the faces of children has always been a gift for me and I am grateful to be able to experience that in abundance at Reuben’s Retreat. My role, as Family Team Administrator Champion, allows me to support the work that the team do for our beautiful beneficiary families and to be a small part of enabling the magic to happen, a magic that is truly unique to Reuben’s Retreat.
I have worked in education for over 20 years in both primary and secondary schools, but as soon as I stepped through the doors at Reuben’s, I was captivated. I knew instantly this is where I wanted to be. I feel honoured and humbled to be part of the amazing Family Support Team here at Reuben’s Retreat. I am lucky to have already experienced so many incredible moments in such a short time, but my most memorable moment would have to be at our recent Disney Event. The room was filled with such positivity and happiness; children’s faces shone with glee and that moment will be imprinted on my heart forever.
