Together for the journey
I do believe that we all have the ability to leave this world a better place than how we found it. Being a bereaved Mum has taught me so much, delivering his angel work has taught me even more. Reuben walks with me every day.
The Family Wellbeing Champion role is to gently reach out to bereaved families, help them navigate their loss on their healing journey.
To help express their feelings in a safe place where they can cry, be angry and know that they are held non- judgmentally.
Whenever I talk about Reuben’s Retreat I often take stock of my own body language, something I am aware of in counselling. I touch my heart and smile and this is how I feel. I know that this isn’t going to feel like a job for me, it’s so much more.
As a Family Wellbeing Champion it is my privilege to assist our families in navigating through their own unique journeys. I am here to provide a supporting, non-judgemental ear for parents and seek to do all I can to enrich the lives of all the families we serve.
A large part of my role is to plan exciting and memorable activities for our families. When new beneficiaries visit the Retreat for the first time, I support our Family Wellbeing Lead in entertaining and getting to know the children, to find out how we can best support them.
My job is to create and convert fabulous ideas into funds whilst achieving great impact! It is a multi-faceted and magical position which involves the art of storytelling and the talent of taking every pound donated, multiplying it, and stretching it into so much more.
It is knowing that one conversation you have with a lady in the supermarket about the REUBlue hoodie you’re wearing could lead to a new regular donor without even knowing that lady has been grieving and hasn’t known where to seek help. It is knowing that every 5 minutes throughout the 9-5 day we are changing our gorgeous familie’s lives.
My role is to enable. This means I give the team what they need to complete their work with integrity. I anchor the team and keep things steady. This keep us moving at the correct pace – which is still usually Angel Speed! This enables us to walk side by side with our beneficiaries, delivering a authentic world class service.
My role within the Reuben’s family is a wonderfully varied and creative one – full of fun and creative magic! I am guided by our loving team and beneficiary families to share important stories, create artwork, awareness, and promote fabulous events so that we can create even more beautiful family support services.
My role supports Reuben’s Mummy & the Trustee Board, the Family Champions and the rest of the team, enabling them to deliver beautiful heart-work to all the gorgeous families who come to our door. With an overview of all the lovely things that happen at Reuben’s Retreat, the PA is a vital cog in the team wheel.
My job title is Office Manager, but my role is so much more than that. I am the friendly welcoming voice that our supporters and beneficiaries first hear when they ring us. My role underpins all other roles in the organisation and helps to maintain the smooth and effective running of this amazing charity!
As Housekeeper my role is to maintain the high standards that Reuben’s Retreat has set. This includes maintaIning a clean and safe environment for both staff, beneficiaries and visitors.
