I am thrilled to be part of the Reuben’s Retreat team. As a fundraiser, every day is interesting, diverse and an absolute joy.

Meeting our volunteers and witnessing first hand the incredible endeavours that our community do to raise much needed funds, is inspiring.

I also write grant applications in a bid to secure funding so that we can continue our beautiful work and complete our forever home.

Grant writer/Funding Champion

My job is to create and convert fabulous ideas into funds whilst achieving great impact!  It is a multi-faceted and magical position which involves the art of storytelling and the talent of taking every pound donated, multiplying it, and stretching it into so much more.

My role as fundraising champion is, essentially, to raise the funds we need to make our incredible and inspiring work happen. I assist in turning many great ideas into exciting challenges to raise funds, and to liaise with the incredible community that supports us! I spend every day surrounded by the most kind and generous souls, who work intrinsically together to support all of our beautiful families and walk with them, side by side, on their journey.

I have worked in education for over 20 years in both primary and secondary schools, but as soon as I stepped through the doors at Reuben’s, I was captivated. I knew instantly this is where I wanted to be. I feel honoured and humbled to be part of the amazing Family Support Team here at Reuben’s Retreat.  I am lucky to have already experienced so many incredible moments in such a short time, but my most memorable moment would have to be at our recent Disney Event.  The room was filled with such positivity and happiness; children’s faces shone with glee and that moment will be imprinted on my heart forever.

I have recently joined Reuben’s Retreat as a Family Wellbeing Champion and my role is working with bereaved families and supporting them in their grieving process by providing an environment where they can feel safe and secure without feeling judgment.  The welcome I received from the team has been so warm and supportive, I feel blessed to have joined “the Reuben’s Retreat Family!”. I have worked in charities for the past 20 years as a child therapist and have a wealth of experience supporting people empathically and without judgment. I am excited to see where my journey takes me working with Reuben’s Retreat.

Dolly has passed her perfect puppy course, puppy good companion award, puppy socialisation course and attended 12 x 1-1 training sessions.

My role as Head Of Operations sees me underpin all operational aspects of the charity ensuring that the fundraising & service delivery teams can undertake their roles, safely, risk-free and with ease.  Having a strong operational background and a wealth of experience within this field makes me determined to make a difference to the smooth running of this wonderful cause.
