Supporting families of complexly poorly children and families of child loss

Our Forever Home

Our Forever Home journey started back in 2014 when we purchased an amazing Victorian building formerly known as ‘Wood’s Hospital’.

After years of fundraising, planning and building, it has been a long and exciting project. We are now fundraising for our next phases which will include 3 fully accessible apartments.

We hope you enjoy learning more about our Retreat, our renovation project, its various spaces, history and more.

A place to relax, recharge, remember and rebuild

Our Location

Based in Glossop, Derbyshire, our countryside facilities are a perfect location for families of complexly poorly children and parents of loss to escape from everyday life and recharge

Our renovation

Our 10 phase renovation plan required to make the site fit for purpose are extensive but incredibly worthy, as they will create a facility that is able to support individuals and families for generations to come.

Our History

Announced it was going to be built in 1886 as one of the Jubilee gifts to Glossop on Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee, Wood’s Hospital was opened without any ceremony on Monday, January 21st 1889.
